Elective Course in Oncology for Medical Students
01-12 August 2011, Antwerp, Belgium
ECCO is pleased to be the official organiser of this highly unique course, an endeavour in line with our mission to promote interaction between all organisations involved in cancer research, education, treatment and care at the European level and be “the” driving European force in multidisciplinary and multiprofessional oncology.
With the key goal of encouraging medical students to specialise in an oncology related discipline the concept of this intensive course, which began in Poznan has proven to be so successful that a second course has been established in Antwerp in order to meet the high demand for places.
Selected through a competitive application process, up to 24 participants from every corner of Europe will assemble at Antwerp University Hospital, Antwerp, Belgium to participate in this 2-week long programme.
The programme incorporates both theoretical and practical training from experienced teachers in the form of plenary sessions, case study presentations, daily special visits to various oncology departments and group course projects that must be finalised and presented at the end of the course.
Successful candidates benefit from free registration and accommodation at a fellow student’s home as well as a travel grant.
This Course has been designated for European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System credits (ECTS).
APPLICATION DEADLINE 22 May 2011
