About Australian Internships
Australian Internships, the pioneering internship agency in Australia. Our vision is to provide premium internship placements to top international students and recent graduates in their academic field. Australian Internships arrange individualised internships with three program options available. Programs
Professional Internships
The Internship Program offers candidates in almost all fields an opportunity to gain professional experience in their area. The positions are non-paid training positions and they are available in all major cities of Australia. The Internship Program will give candidates entry to Australia's leading organisations.
Australian Internships ensures that candidates receive training compatible with their educational history.
Internship lengths vary depending on the candidate. The minimum length is 6 weeks and maximum length is 26 weeks.
Candidates can choose from any of the following fields or specify and we will match their request with a suitable organization:
Accounting, Aged Care and Child Care, Agriculture, Arts, Banking and Finance, Education, Engineering, Environmental Science, Forestry, Government, Graphic Design*, Hospitality and Tourism, Human Resources, Information Technology, Law and Politics*, Linguistics, Marine Science, Media and Journalism*, Medical Research, Photography*, Political Science, Retail, Sales and Marketing, Sociology, Sport, Telecommunications, Trade, Travel, Wholesale, … plus many more
*Certain fields may require extra lead time and/or additional requirements such as portfolios.
Note: Positions in the Health Industry for doctors, nurses, dentists etc. are not available due to government restrictions.
Eligibility
In order to be eligible for the Professional Internship Program candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Aged 18-30
- The internship field requested is directly related to your educational background
- Currently enrolled in a tertiary course, or A recent graduate within 24 months of course completion
- Upper intermediate - advanced English language skills
Hospitality Program
The Hospitality Program is a paid internship program offered to highly skilled candidates that are completing or have completed hospitality studies and have relevant hospitality experience. There are 6, 9 & 12 month options.
Positions are available in Food and Beverage, Front Office, Housekeeping and Cookery.

Valuable Information on Hospitality Program:
- Internship applications must be lodged a minimum of six (6) months prior to internship commencement or arrival in Australia. 5 months for candidates with a suitable working visa.
- All candidates must complete a telephone interview before being accepted into the internship program.
- Candidates must be willing to complete their internship in a hotel, resort or restaurant in any of the major tourist centres throughout Australia.
- The first week in the workplace for all interns will be focussed on training and induction.
- Interns will be required to cover the cost of their travel and accommodation
Internship Payment for Hospitality Candidates:
Internships are arranged on a full time basis with interns working a minimum of 25 hours per week. The average hourly rate for interns is AU$12-$15. This wage may vary depending on the Host Organization and intern working hours.
Professional Year Program (PYP)
The Professional Year Program (PYP) offers former international students, who have graduated from a university in Australia, an introduction to their respective occupation and relevant practical training. Australian Internships provides the practical component of the Professional Year Program (PYP) and has been approved by the accrediting bodies authorised by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC).
