The PORSCHE INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ADVERTISING FILM AWARD every year it gives young directors of advertising films throughout the world and their teams the opportunity to submit their creative and always innovative commercial spots. The PORSCHE AWARD is the only international advertising film award which was exclusively designed for students and apprentices. Its goal is to offer the young talents a stage on which they have the chance to present their works and themselves to experienced trade experts, thereby paving the way for the committed young teams to professional and successful filmmaking.

The maximum length of the advertising spots submitted for the competition is 90 seconds. A novelty in 2011 is the possibility to make submissions in a second category, comprising all other advertising formats such as campaigns, branded entertainment, trailers, etc. The maximum length in this category is 5 minutes.

It has become a tradition that each year the Posche AG as the eponym and main sponsor of the competition and also as a globally active manufacturer of sports cars donates the three main prizes, which commemorate – through the prize money to the amount of 3.911,- euros, 2.9.11,- euros, and 1.911,- euros – the premium car company´s all-time classic, the Porsche 911. From 2011 onwards, the special prize to the amount of 911,- euros for a foreign film will also be endowed by the Porsche AG. In addition, the winners will each receive a trophy in the shape of a slingshot, which represents the will of the young filmmakers to establish themselves in the highly competitive market.

In the new, second category mentioned above, the best work will be honoured by the “New Spirit Advertising Prize” with 3.356 Euro

Eligibility requirements
*Who can play?
Eligible for application are students from film schools, schools of art and design and apprentices in the fields of film, television and advertising film throughout the world. The members of the jury cannot consider any adverstising film/format not produced at an educational institution.

*The rules of the game
Students may enter the following advertising films/formats:
(The advertising formats submitted must have been produced without the assistance or involvement of professionals.)

First Category: Classical advertising film formats: Advertising spots for TV, cinema or Internet (Virals included; Social Spots included). The individual spots must not exceed 90 seconds in length.

Second Category: All other advertising formats (The films/formats must be related/ linked to advertising and/or a brand): campaigns consisting of several advertising spots, branded entertainment (e.g. branded short, branded documentary etc.), productions for mobile phones, integrated or social media campaigns, other advertising formats, trailers. Each format must not exceed 5 minutes in length. It is also possible to submit a comprehensible five-minute extract/montage of a longer format. Please note that, in this case, both the extract/montage and the original version must be submitted.

Deadline for submissions is Friday, 15th of July 2011.
