World Business Dialogue
13 - 14 March 2013
University of Cologne, Germany

The "World Business Dialogue" is the world's largest student-run business convention. Here, 60 top-class personalities from economy, science and politics enter a discussion about economically and socially relevant, future-oriented topics with 300 international students and just as many executives, notably from German companies. For 25 years, Cologne University is converted into a convention centre for the economic elite for two days. Also known under its former title "Deutscher Wirtschaftskongress", the World Business Dialogue will once again take place in March 2012 for the 15th time.

The World Business Dialogue's singularity and relevance are supported by a large number of well-known speakers that have participated in past conventions; among these are Josef Ackermann, CEO of Deutsche Bank, Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft, and Michael Bloomberg, governing mayor of New York, who made use of the convention as a platform for discussion and exchange and appreciated the student's commitment. The same is also true for the 300 corporate participants who were and continue to be attracted by a mixture of cross-generational dialogue, deeply founded topics, networking and recruiting.

Last but not least, through the "World Business Dialogue", student participants have the unique opportunity to approach representatives of the global economy and to establish contact with motivated fellow students from around the world.

The 16th World Business Dialogue is going to deal with alternative business models. For the sake of focus we narrowed down our topic on three relevant subjects

At the 16th World Business Dialogue we want to dare an experiment. Notionally we will free our minds from our familiar structures in order to seriously discuss the challenges of today. Our aim is not only to rethink business out of the box, but to roll up our sleeves, and actively take our chance to shape a smart future.

No, there is no limit. Students will be selected by the quality of their applications.

I am a recent graduate - can I still apply as a Student?
No, unfortunately that is not possible. You have to be enrolled in a university during the time of the convention.

When can I apply for the 16th World Business Dialogue?
The application tool will open at the 1st of October 2012 and remain open until the 15th of December 2012. We offer two separated rounds of application in our application process. Applicants who have not been selected in the first round automatically apply again in the second round.

Are there any benefits for first-round-applicants?
First-round applicants will have earlier access to the workshop application and the Supporting Program application, i.e. they have better chances to participate in their chosen workshops and activities.
