“1st World Youth Meeting for a Sustainable Future”,
Bari, 19-21 January 2010.

The Italian government and the Regione Puglia will be hosting the “1st World Youth Meeting for a Sustainable Future”, in the context of the initiative “Ni, mondlokaj civitanoj- We, Global Local citizens” (NMC) which seeks to promote sustainable development and youth participation in decision-making at both local and global level. The Meeting will bring together 500 youth delegates from 90 countries and more than a 1000 participants who are actively involved in community and local action, implementing innovative ideas and promoting change. It will include a series of workshops addressing five thematic clusters: Education; Citizenship/civic engagement; Environment/Climate change; Human Safety and Development; Labor, entrepreneurship and economy.
The youth delegates should:
- Be between 18 and 30 years old
- Be agents of change within their societies, primarily at the community level, leading innovative approaches to stimulate political, social and cultural advances related to the thematic clusters addressed by the Meeting.
- Be able to spread learning and outcomes within their communities and networks in order to multiply the conference impact.
- Have proficiency in at least one of the following languages: English, French, Spanish or Italian.
