Aims and Scope
The course comprises:
Lectures on theoretical and methodological aspects (2 lectures each morning);
Hands-on experiments within the frame of 3-weeks projects (afternoons in the labs, in different workstations of the Bordeaux Neuroscience Institute).

This course focuses on the study of synaptic structure, function and plasti-city, and highlights how the strength of research programs in the fi eld depends on a multi-level and multidiscplinary approach. The course covers examples of „synaptopathies“, neurological and psychiatric disorders which are linked to altered synaptic structure and function.

Topics
Cellular and molecular biology of synaptic proteins; Anatomy; Cellular electrophysiology; Live imaging techniques; Integrative approaches; Animal models of synaptic dysfunction.
