Ford Foundation International Fellowships Program
About IFP
The Ford Foundation International Fellowships Program provides opportunities for advanced study to individuals who will use this education to become leaders in their respective fields. To ensure that fellows are drawn from diverse backgrounds, IFP actively seeks candidates from social groups and communities that lack systematic access to higher education, and supports them through local partner organizations in 22 countries. A growing number of IFP fellows have completed their studies and returned to their home countries, where they are forming alumni associations and networks, building a vibrant community both within and across national borders.
Our Vision
IFP is a fellowship program uniquely designed to promote social justice, community development, and access to higher education. As the single largest program ever supported by the Ford Foundation, IFP advances the Foundation’s mission around the world. The program supports talented individuals from marginalized social groups, and encourages them to use their leadership skills and knowledge to work toward positive social change in their home communities and countries.
Application Process
IFP Fellowship recipients are exceptional individuals who are residents or resident nationals of IFP countries with demonstrated social commitment and academic achievement. Typically, they are men and women who have overcome obstacles such as poverty and discrimination to gain access to higher education, and aspire to work for social justice in their home communities upon completion of their studies.
IFP Worldwide Partner Offices
