Happy Birthday Italy!
This year, Italy celebrates the 150th anniversary since the Unification of the Country.
ThinkYoung invites you to Turin from the 7th-11th of July 2011, for a once in a lifetime celebration with 500 students! Discuss Europe, discover Turin and party with students from across Europe and beyond!
The movement that led to Italian unification was guided by young people who, despite their social, cultural and political differences, decided to exploit a common momentum. Happy Birthday Italy is an event aimed at bringing back to life the spirit of the young rebels of the Risorgimento: for young people to share ideas and give a renewed impetus to intercultural understanding, democracy, respect, diversity, human rights, solidarity and active citizenship in Europe.
Happy Birthday Italy costs just 50€, which includes the cost of accommodation, food, parties, transportation in the city, museums, conferences, a welcome package, and a lot of fun!
The Event
The 5 key principles of Happy Birthday Italy:
• Bring a good mood, enthusiasm and fresh ideas
• Join the Happy Birthday Italy community in Turin
• Stay with us at Officine Grandi Riparazioni (OGR)
• Participate in workshops prepared in collaboration with our partners
• Have fun over these 5 crazy summer days in Italy’s first capital!
You will participate by attending workshops dealing with the European Union, the Balkans, the Digital Agenda, Entrepreneurship, the Middle East Revolutions, the Environment, Energy, Education, the Relationship of Europe with Asia and the US and much more!
You will return home with a head full of new ideas and 500 new friends, having had fun discovering Turin and participating in the different activities proposed.
FORMAT:
We will work like a think-tank, to share ideas and best practices in small and big groups, plenary sessions and a truly European environment.
DON’T FORGET:
The participation fee includes:
- Daily activities, including ceremonies and workshops
- 4 nights accommodation in OGR
- Food and drinks: 3 meals per day provided by the organizers
- Official parties
- Transportation within Turin
- Access to museums
Fee does NOT include:
- Travelling costs to and from Turin
- Additional costs
