Are you interested in getting a special insight into Wind Turbine Technology together with International and Danish students in your summer holidays?
In close cooperation with representatives from the wind turbine industry in Denmark, the Engineering College of Aarhus offers a Summer School with focus on Wind Turbine Technology from 9-21 August 2009 at "Fuglsøcentret", Denmark.
The purpose of the Summer School is to enable you to apply your engineering competences to Wind Turbine Technology problems, and to gain an insight into the functions of the turbines and the interaction between the different sub-components and their demand profiles.
The Summer School will especially focus on mechanics and control engineering problems.
A considerable part of the course will be carried out in cooperation with the Danish wind turbine industry. Several days the lessons will be conducted by the companies at their localities.
Course Description – Summer School Wind Turbine Technology
(Intensive Course)
5 ECTS*
*In order to obtain the 5 ECTS-credits you will have to be present and participate in the entire programme.
Requirements for participation:
The course welcomes you who:
* are studying to become an engineer
* have a great interest in Wind Turbine Technology
* will finish your engineering education within the next year
* have educational competences within Mechanical Design or Control Engineering and Electronics.
Competences
Through participation in the Summer School you will gain following competences:
* Understanding of advantages, problems and principles in power from wind energy
* Understanding of the functions and main elements of the wind turbine
* Experience in applying your own engineering knowledge to specific wind turbine problems
* A wind turbine technical approach to subjects as:
o Composite materials
o Control engineering applications
o Mechanics
o Life cycle assessments
Participation
Is free - sponsored by companies in the wind turbine industry and the Engineering College of Aarhus.
Accommodation
The Summer School will take place at Fuglsøcentret, where we will also provide free accommodation from 9-21 August 2009. You will be accommodated in double rooms with another participant. Single room can be reserved, but for an extra charge of app. Dkr. 250/€ 35 per night (12 nights all in all).
