BUSINESS AND CULTURE IN LATIN AMERICA
ISCTE Business School, Lisbon, and University of Esan, Lima, offer a 3 weeks summer school programme on the topic Business and Culture in Latin America, designed for master and undergraduate students who are interested in a special learning experience. Summer School Lima offers students the chance to broaden their knowledge on business topics and to develop their cross-cultural skills, getting in contact with local students and to share classes and leisure activities in and outside of Lima.
General Information
Dates: The academic programme runs from 4th of July until 22nd of July 2011. Students are advised to arrive at least one day before the programme starts.
Programme: "Business and Culture in Latin America", in total 60 hours of classes plus company visits
Accomodation: Students will be accomodated in an attractive sports complex close to the University campus (shared rooms)

The programme includes:
- 60 hours of classes
- company visits
Topics:
- International Marketing
- Intercultural Management
- Language and Life in Peru
- Economic Policies in Latin America and Peru
- Peruvian History and Culture
Company Visits
Successful Case in Agribusiness and Exports: Asparragus, Lecture and Site Visit (Ica City: 300 km south of Lima) and overnight stay in Nasca. During this trip, on a weekend, participants will also visit Islas Ballestas and Huacachina lagoon and its sand dunes.

All afternoon “Pisco Sour event” competition at ESAN
Visit to Lima and to a Museum (Museo de la Nacion)
Credits
6 credit points can be awarded for the successful participation in the programme (depending on the approval of student's home university).
Tuition Fee
- For students of IBS/ISCTE-IUL and partner universities - 890 €
- For all other students - 990 €
The price does not include travel costs ( flight from Europe to Peru) neither travel insurance (it is compulsory to have a travel insurance)
The tuition fees includes:
- Academic programme and course materials
- Accommodation in the sports' complex (shared rooms), close to the university and with swimming pool facility
- Lunch on school days, Welcome and Farewell dinner
- Company visit
- Advice and support for travelling in Peru
During a weekend a two-day trip is included in the programme, comprising a visit to Islas Ballestas (Paracas National reserve with spectacular wildlife), a company visit in Ica and on the way back to Lima, a stop at Huacachina lagoon with opportunity to practice sandboarding (surfing the dunes on sand boards).
