VIA Summer School 2011
VIA Summer School is a great opportunity for all students to experience a new country during summer time while learning and having fun.
You can attend courses relevant for your career and at the same time enjoy summer holidays with excursions, parties and sports. VIASummer School is international and you will meet and work with people from many different countries.
The courses are mainly on Bachelor level but in some cases it can be also relevant to Masters students too - it depends on your home institution and study programme. Ask us if you have any doubts.
All courses are being evaluated based on passed/failed scale. Attendance is compulsory to pass the course. In order to finish a course with a grade you will have to attend an examination. Based on examination result, the appropriate grade will be given.
5 ECTS points will be awarded on completion of a course.
NOTICE: No tuition fee for EU/EAA students!
Business & Management Courses
- E-BUSINESS & E-COMMERCE MANAGEMENT
How e-commerce affects business, professions and people around the world
This course introduces electronic commerce, also known as E-business, or the process of electronically buying and selling goods, services, and information via computer networks, including the internet.
The course examines how E-commerce is conducted and managed as well as assessing its major opportunities, limitations, issues and risks.
Cost: None – books can be brrowed from the Library
EU students: No tuition fee.
Other students: DKK 5,000
Prerequisites: Basic knowledge in economic or information technology
Schedule: 2 weeks. July 4th to July 15th, 2011
- MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS
Combine the internet with business
This workshop introduces information technologies that are critical to modern business organizations, discusses technology and adoption trends, and explores the evolving role of IT in business. The course covers information technologies relevant to business operations, decision making, and E-Business.
Cost: None – Book can be borrowed at the library
EU students: No tuition fee.
Other students: DKK 5,000
Prerequisites: Basic knowledge in economic or information technology
Schedule: 2 weeks. July 18th to July 29th, 2011
- TECHNOLOGY MANAGEMENT
Modern technologies in business?
The purpose of this course is to expose you to the dynamics of industries driven by technological innovation, and to train you to think strategically about technological innovation and new product development and deployment.
Cost: None - materials will be provided
EU students: No tuition fee.
Other students: DKK 5,000
Prerequisites: Broad understanding of technologies, marketing and statistics
Schedule: 2 weeks. August 1st to August 12th, 2011
- MANAGERIAL ECONOMICS
The principles of managerial economics and decision making process for engineers
Managerial Economics in a Global Economy synthesizes economic theory, decision science, and various aspects of business administration studies, examining how they interact as a firm attempts to reach optimal profitability and efficiency in the face of constraints.
Cost: None – books can be borrowed from the library
EU students: No tuition fee.
Other students: DKK 5,000
Prerequisites: At least 1 year of study activities
Schedule: 2 weeks. August 1st to August 12th, 2011
