VIA Summer School 2011

VIA Summer School is a great opportunity for all students to experience a new country during summer time while learning and having fun.

You can attend courses relevant for your career and at the same time enjoy summer holidays with excursions, parties and sports. VIASummer School is international and you will meet and work with people from many different countries.

The courses are mainly on Bachelor level but in some cases it can be also relevant to Masters students too - it depends on your home institution and study programme. Ask us if you have any doubts.

All courses are being evaluated based on passed/failed scale. Attendance is compulsory to pass the course. In order to finish a course with a grade you will have to attend an examination. Based on examination result, the appropriate grade will be given.

5 ECTS points will be awarded on completion of a course.

Web Design Courses
- DIGITAL MEDIA TOOLS
Learn to design a web commercial, website, or photo - montaged picture
This workshop is both a theoretical and a practical workshop introducing the students to professional digital media tools like Photoshop and Flash, plus design and implementation of user-centered websites focusing on usability and accessibility.

Cost: None – book can be borrowed from the Library
EU students: No tuition fee.
Other students: DKK 5,000
Prerequisites: At least 2 years of studying and basic software knowledge
Schedule: 2 weeks. July 4th to July 15th, 2011

- DIGITAL MULTIMEDIA
Learn how to do an animation, how to mix sound or how to create a video
This workshop is a theoretical and practical workshop introducing the students to digital multimedia - plus the creation and editing of common digital media types like vector graphics, bitmapped graphics, audio, video, animation, etc.

Cost: None – book can be borrowed at the library
EU students: No tuition fee.
Other students: DKK 5,000
Prerequisites: At least 2 semesters of studying
Schedule: 2 weeks. July 18th to July 29th, 2011

- WEB ENGINEERING
Do you want to create professional websites?
This workshop is both a theoretical and a practical workshop introducing the students to the basic principles of the web engineering process, covering web development concepts, methods, tools and techniques.

Cost: None – books can be borrowed at the library
EU students: No tuition fee.
Other students: DKK 5,000
Prerequisites: None
Schedule: 2 weeks. August 1st to August 12th, 2011
