The Malta Hospice Movement

Mission Statement
The Malta Hospice Movement is a voluntary organisation inspired by Christian values. It exists to provide and promote the highest standards of Palliative Care for all persons with cancer, motor neurone disease and other terminal diseases. It also aims to help and support their families and carers.

The Malta Hospice Movement is a pioneer in creating and delivering Palliative Care Services in the Maltese Islands.
Our volunteers are organised in teams or groups according to the area of work of their own choice and according to their skills and abilities. The teams have different tasks which include:

• DAY CARE SERVICE

• SALON

• ASSISTED BATHING

• CRAFTS
Volunteers share their skills in various crafts and recreational activities
• CATERING
Preparing and serving refreshments during day care and on special events and outings
• RECEPTION
Welcoming all those who contact Hospice in person or on the telephone. Other reception duties
• HOME VISITS

• COACH SHUTTLE SERVICE TO AND FROM SIR PAUL BOFFA HOSPITAL
