The International Youth Exchange "Do you see it happen?", 31 July - 10 August 2011, Netherlands
The International Youth Exchange "Do you see it happen?"
Olde Vechte Foundation, Ommen, The Netherlands
Date: 31st July until the 10th of August (excluding traveling days)
Conditions: Deaf and hearing youth with the age of 18 – 25 years old, coming from 5 countries (The Netherlands, Hungary, Romania, Latvia and Greece), able to work in simple English or International Sign Language.
Deaf and hearing youth from 5 different countries: The Netherlands, Hungary, Romania, Latvia and Greece will come together this summer! (31-07-2011 till 11-08-2011 in Ommen, The Netherlands).
During the exchange deaf and hearing participants will meet, learn, work, explore, express and create together. We focus on the fact that deaf and hearing youth learn from each other and each other’s differences in culture, habits and ways to communicate.
We will have a very active programme with a lot of indoor and outdoor activities. We
will work with different media, our body and our senses.
In many parts of the exchange interpreters will be used in order to translate from spoken English to International Sign Language and vice versa.
Participants
- Deaf and hearing youth in the age of 18 – 25 years old.
- Are able to work in simple English or International Sign Language.
- Are willing to actively participate during the whole exchange.
- In each country there are places for 3 Deaf and 3 hearing participants.
Countries and contact persons
Countries involved in the project and the contact persons per country:
- The Netherlands (Maria and Roos (deaf)
- Hungary (Viktoria)
- Romania (Ionel)
- Latvia (Karina (deaf)
- Greece (Sofia and Anna (deaf))
Accommodation
The exchange will take place at the Olde Vechte Foundation, Ommen, The
Netherlands.
Reimbursement of travel cost
There are a couple of rules regarding to reimburse your travel costs:
- We only can reimburse 70% of your travel costs when you give us the travel tickets, boarding passes and receipts.
- We will only reimburse your travel cost if you participate in the whole exchange.
- There is a maximum refund which you can find in the table below.
Participation fee
The Netherlands €70,-
Hungary €60,-
Romania €60,-
Latvia €60,-
Greece €60
